Gavin Barlow has worked on reshaping the Albany. He said "we had to work more like a social enterprise. We have lots of office space, digital equipment and workshops and we started renting them out to community and artistic organisations". Now the Albany is going through its fourth reinvention, and this time it comes with a new community feature.

Our plan of developing social housing will mix the ‘inherited’ with the new, enmeshing the theatre back into the heart of our community. 

 

The new ‘Albany Village’ will have a ‘front to front’ relationship with the theatre; the housing will be close enough to touch the theatre, but not too close to disturb your peace and privacy at home. Your home will be quiet, secure, and most importantly, high quality.
